My Story
Pastor Alfredo is a first-generation immigrant from Mexico since 1989 and is fluent in both English and Spanish
languages. He is the current pastor of our congregation since January 2026. Pastor Alfredo’s family includes his wife
for 51 years Alejandrina, four grown children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Pastor Alfredo’s call, education, and experience focus on proclaiming the Good News of the love of the triune God -
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - for all people. This in practice means all people is welcome to our congregation;
inclusive of all ethnicities, gender orientation, and socio-economics backgrounds.
He has earned a Diploma of Theology from the Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary in San Antonio,
Texas (1992). Master of Divinity from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, North
Carolina (2000). Master of Liberal Arts at the University of North Carolina Asheville (2001).
Lutheran Studies at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina
(2013), and a Doctor of Ministry at the United Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia (2022).
Professional work done by Pastor Alfredo includes parish pastor, college teaching, mental health provider, and
hospital chaplain. Volunteer work includes former board member of the Interfaith Assistance Ministry in
Hendersonville, former Council member of the NC Synod, former Board member of the Free Clinics in
Hendersonville, NC, and currently a Board member of the Lutheran Services of the Carolinas. Pastor Alfredo loves
Jesus Christ, people, nature, ethics, reading, computer science, and sports.
